Fans coming to Progressive Auto Sales Arena for Sarnia Sting home games will notice significant upgrades to the concourse ascetics, concession food offerings and enhanced game experiences thanks to the Sarnia Sting Sure Signs partnership.
The three major concession stands on the concourse underwent a makeover this summer leading into the 2022-23 campaign. Not only do these newly revitalized stands bring upgraded food offerings to Sting fans they also pay tribute to some of Sarnia’s disguised alumnus.
“Each year we continue to strive to elevate the experience for Sting fans. We know that food and beverage plays a big role in that and we are excited to not only bring new upgraded meal offerings at Stammer’s Station but also showcase our proud Sting history on the walls of our concourse at the same time.” Comments Sting Director, Marketing & Corporate Partnerships, Jake Bourrie.
Stammer’s Station highlights these upgrades as the former “Smokes Poutinerie” atop section 110 has been transformed into the Sting Stars legacy. Stamkos, known for many goals in the same corner, is honoured throughout the walls of the area, including: a timeline of his hockey career beginning as a minor with the Markham Waxers, to his current role as Captain and two-time Stanley Cup Champion with the Tampa Bay Lightning. The area also includes a reflection on the historic night in January 2018, when the Sarnia Sting retired Steven’s number 91 to the rafter of the Hive.
Along with a fresh new look and reading material for fans, Stammer’s Station brings a new menu of concession food offerings to the facility. Sting fans now have enhanced meal options that include: the crispy chicken sandwich, smash burger, chicken tenders, and boneless bites with choice of fries or poutine on the side.
Mirroring Stammer’s Station in the south end of the arena is the improved Candy Counter. A favourite among children at the games, the Candy Counter offers carnival style snacks and treats including: hot flavoured nuts, cotton candy, ice cream, lolly pops, fresh popped popcorn and more.
Along with the concession upgrades fans will notice a theme of wall wraps and placements that stamp the Hive as the Home of Sarnia Sting hockey. Fans are also encouraged to stop by the Sarnia Sting player wall at the top of section 115 where they can famiuarize themselves with each individual members of the Sarnia Sting as well as organization’s core values.
“Projects like these can only be accomplished in partnership fashion. Mark and his team at SureSigns have been just that and we can’t thank them enough. We are proud to call SureSigns the official signage partner of the Sarnia Sting and showcase the community alignment through projects within our facility.” Bourrie Adds.
Finally. the new on-concourse suite experience at the Huron Flight Services Flight Deck will bring luxury Sting experience right to the concourse. Groups of 8-12 can now come together at a Sarnia Sting home game, sitting comfortably along the live edge bar a top section 114. Groups will have semi private space on the concourse along with their very own dedicated host/ hostess providing full food & beverage service from the rink side restaurant.
