Steven Stamkos Jersey Retirement

On January 12, 2018 the Sarnia Sting raised the number 91 to the rafters of the Progressive Auto Sales Arena in honour of Sting great and current Tampa Bay Lightning Captain Steven Stamkos. the Markham, ON native “wowed” Sarnia with his dazzling play of ice and community leadership off ice, serving as a member of the Sting from 2006-2008. Stamkos was selected with the first overall pick by the Tampa Bay Lightning cracking the squad as an 18 year-old, playing over 600 National Hockey League games to date.
