SARNIA, ON – General Manager, Nick Sinclair announced today that Cameron Hough has agreed to terms on a Standard Player Agreement and Education Package with the Sarnia Sting Hockey Club.
The Sting selected Hough in the 13th round (257th overall) of the 2016 OHL Priority Selection. With the Vaughan Kings last year, the 6.01, 190 lb. left winger posted 57 points, including 26 goals over the course of 66 games. Through 32 games with the Toronto Jr. Canadiens this year – Hough has registered 13 goals and 17 assists for a total of 30 points.
Sinclair comments on today’s announcement, “We’re happy to come to an agreement with Cameron and welcome him and his family to the Sarnia Sting Hockey Club. Dating back to mini-camp this summer, Cameron has worked very hard, both on and off the ice, to improve himself as a player. His progression has earned him this opportunity – and goes to show that where you are selected on draft day is far less important than the work you put in afterwards to get better. As a group, we look forward to working with Cameron on his continued development and helping him achieve success as a member of our organization.”
Hough is expected to make his OHL debut in tonight’s game against the Guelph Storm. Puck drop is set for 7:05 PM at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena.
