The Sarnia Sting Hockey Club in partnership with the Pathways Health Centre for Children and Green for Life Environmental (GFL Environmental) are excited to announce the return of the team’s annual Charity Golf Tournament after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tee times for the Club’s 5th annual tournament, scheduled for Saturday, September 3rd, will begin at 10:00am at Huron Oaks Golf Course. Coming out of the pandemic, the Tournament will introduce an adjusted format as teams will still play in their registered foursomes, however, current members of the Sting will be situated throughout the course at assigned holes and will participate with each group as they play through, allowing participants to meet a variety of Sting players.
For $175 per player (or $700 per foursome), participants will get 18 holes of golf with power carts, a $35 food and beverage voucher to use on the course or in the clubhouse, entry into the long drive and closest to the pin prize holes, the opportunity to meet 2022-23 Sting players throughout the round as well as four 2022-23 Sarnia Sting regular season ticket vouchers. Registration and $300 corporate hole sponsorship packages can be purchased through the Pathways Health Centre for Children website. 100% of the day’s proceeds will go back to support Pathways Health Centre for Children Sarnia and donation receipts in the amount of $75 per participant will be provided by Pathways to the registering individual or organization. To date, the Sting are proud to have donated over $15,000 towards Pathways facilities and programs through tournament registration, auction items, on course games and donations.
On the return of the Tournament, Sting Assistant General Manager Mark Glavin comments:
“The Sarnia Sting are thrilled to once again team up with Pathways and excited to welcome GFL as the title sponsor for this event. After suspending the tournament for two years due to COVID-19 we are really looking forward to the Golf Tournament’s return. We believe that introducing the new twist of situating current members of our team throughout the course to participate with individual groups as they reach each hole will be a lot of fun for the golfers as it will give them the opportunity to interact with all members of our team. Pathways is a very important community partner of our organization, and we are happy to help raise money for such an important service that the kids of Sarnia-Lambton benefit from.”
Tim Bechard of Pathways adds:
“We appreciate the commitment of Green for Life Environmental and the Sarnia Sting in supporting Sarnia-Lambton children.”
