The Sting return home to the RBC Centre Sunday afternoon as the Sudbury Wolves make their lone visit of the season. Game time is 2:00pm.
Prior to puck drop the Sarnia Sting Hockey Club will have an Act of Remembrance in honour of all of those who have served and who are currently serving our country.
Our Official Colour Guard will be the Petrolia Army Cadets under the direction of Army Cadet Officer Kerry Horan. The piper for the ceremony will be Eric Brown from Forest and our trumpeter is Dan Gimpel of the Knights of Columbus, Petrolia.
We will be honoured to have Harry Edwards and Sgt. Gary Vaillancourt taking part in representing our military.
Mr. Edwards, a 2nd World War Veteran served as a Private with the Essex Scottish Regiment out of Windsor.
Sgt. Vaillancourt, a member of the Canadian Forces since 1986, served with the United Nations Peace Keeping Force in Cyprus and the NATO Operation in Bosnia Hercegovina.
As part of our Act of Remembrance the Sarnia Sting will be offering free admission to Sunday’s game for all service men and women. To receive a free ticket arrive to the RBC Centre Box Office on Sunday in uniform or prepared to show identification of your service organization (all Military, Fire, Police, First Responders).
The Sarnia Sting encourage all patrons attending Sunday’s game to wear Red and to also join in with the singing of our National Anthem.
