Nick Sinclair – General Manager
Nick is entering his 10th season with the Sarnia Sting. The 2018-19 campaign will mark his fifth year as General Manager of the hockey club. Nick was originally hired as a regional area scout with the team in 2009 and was later promoted to Director of Player Personnel after two seasons with the organization. Entering his 4th season with the team, Nick was promoted to Head Scout while also maintaining his role as Director of Player Personnel.
In 2015-16 the club captured its first West Division title since 2004 under the reign of Sinclair. At the time, the team set a new franchise record for wins with 42, and points with 91. Just two seasons later under Sinclair’s guidance the team was able to surpass that record as the 2017-18 edition of the Sting set another new franchise record in wins with 46 and points with 97, reaching the Western Conference Semi-Finals for the first time since 2008.
In May 2018, Sinclair was named Director of Operations for Hockey Canada’s U17 Team Canada Red competing in the World U17 Hockey Challenge. The event will be held from November 3rd through November 10th in Saint John, NB. This will serve as the third time Nick has represented Canada on the International stage. Nick previously carried the role of Assistant Director of Operations with Team Ontario U17. During his tenure, he was part of Team Ontario that captured a Gold Medal in 2011 and a Bronze Medal in 2012.
