Sting to Implement Digital 50/50 System at Sarnia Sting Home Games

SARNIA, ON Fans attending Friday nights’ Sarnia Sting vs. Barrie Colts regular season OHL matchup in Sarnia, will be introduced to the new era of 50/50 raffles.

Sting President Bill Abercrombie notes; “Along with the announcement of the new state-of-the-art digital scoreboard and 400 ft LED power ring. This is just another step in providing our fans with the latest in digital technology that is sure to enhance their experience at Canadian Hockey League games.”

The Sting will join 15 other Ontario Hockey League teams who currently use this system created by the Thornhill, ON based company 50/50 Central. The digital raffle software system drives consumer participation in raffle events while providing accountability to the raffle process. The 5050 Central system digitally captures every transaction while providing updated real-time raffle information to display devices located throughout the venue. Tickets are sold to fans through tablet kiosks and mobile hand-held devices, creating an effortless data collection system providing faster sales transaction, longer selling periods, accountability and substantial increases in average raffle proceeds.  5050 Central boasts some of sports’ most iconic brands as clients, with partners across the sports landscape including MLB, NFL, NHL, NBA, MLS, NLL, CFL & EFL as well as several NASCAR events, PGA tournaments and NCAA institutions.

The system has proven to increase revenue amounts significantly in markets that have implemented the new technology. Each market generates funds for the specific not-for-profit organization of their choice.

The beneficiary of 50/50 revenue at Sarnia Sting home games is the not-for-profit organization “Friends of Sarnia Minor Hockey.” All funds generated are distributed amongst minor hockey organizations in the City of Sarnia. Over the past 20 seasons, Friends of Sarnia Minor Hockey has donated over 1 million dollars to boys’ and girls’ minor hockey in the city.
