SARNIA, ON – The Sarnia Sting came from behind in the third period to earn a 4-2 win over the visiting Hamilton Bulldogs on Wednesday night at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena. With the win, the Sting improved to 19-16-5-1 on the season and leap frog the Firebirds for 3rd in the OHL’s West Division.

The Sting out-shot their counterparts 41-21 while winning 38 of 67 face-offs in the game. Leading the way was newly acquired centre, Drake Rymsha, who was an impressive 65%  from the dot to go along with 5 shots on the night.

Aidan Hughes earned his 4th win of the season, turning aside 19 of 21 shots faced. Brigden-native, Kaden Fulcher, stopping 37 of 40  – picking up third star honors for his efforts.

Sting overager Jeff King sprung Jordan Kyrou for a breakaway and he made no mistake; beating Fulcher with the backhand deke at 18:35 of the first period. Aidan Hughes was credited with the second assist on Kyrou’s 15th of the season.

Matt Strome would score twice for the Bulldogs in the second frame and give the visitors a 2-1 lead heading into the final stanza.

Kevin Spinozzi sparked the comeback for the Sting; finding the back of the net at 5:26 of the third period. The captain’s 8th of the season was assisted by Nick Grima and Brady Hinz.

Just 0:34 later, Ryan McGregor potted his 13th of the campaign and the eventual game-winner. Anthony Salinitri made a slick feed to find McGregor at the goal mouth and he tucked the puck between Fulcher’s shoulder and the bar. Adam Ruzicka was credited with the second assist.

Jaden Lindo would make it 4-2 in the latter stages of the game with an empty net goal for his 13th of the season. Spinozzi earned his 100th career OHL point with an assist on the Lindo goal.

The Sting are back in action on Friday night at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena when they play host to the Windsor Spitfires. Puck drop is set for 7:05. Tickets are available during Box Office hours, by calling (519) 541-1717 or online here.
