Murphy Out For Season

Sarnia, On –  Sarnia Sting General Manager Jacques Beaulieu announced today that defenceman Connor Murphy will miss the rest of the season following an injury suffered at the World Junior Tournament.

Murphy under the care of the Phoenix Coyotoes Medical Staff had an MRI performed Wednesday in Phoenix the results of which showed a lateral meniscus tear causing his knee to lock.

The injury will require surgical repair.

Results of the MRI were made available Wednesday evening at approximately 6:00 pm.

Beaulieu issued the following statement on behalf of the hockey club.

“First and foremost our hearts go out to Connor.  This is a player who does everything the right way and has such a bright future in this game.  He is in excellent hands with the Phoenix Medical staff who will take the lead with his procedure and rehab.”
